Who we are
Ask by Email is operated by Hallan Labs LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17207814), registered office at 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”, “our”).
Who this service is for
Ask by Email is an adult-facing productivity tool. By using the service, you confirm that you are 18 or over and that you are authorised to send the content you submit.
You are responsible for the emails, documents and other content you send to the service, including making sure you have any permissions needed to share third-party content with us.
What the service does
Ask by Email lets you send or forward emails to our service so that an AI model can summarise, answer, extract actions, identify dates, or help draft a reply. We then send the AI-generated response back to you by email.
Your first summary or ask email may be processed automatically to demonstrate the service. After that, you may need to activate your email address before further requests are processed.
What you can and cannot send
Ask by Email is intended for ordinary productivity use, such as long emails, newsletters, notices, school communications, documents and similar material.
Please do not send highly sensitive or confidential material, including passwords, identity documents, payment card details, medical records, safeguarding information, legal case materials, financial account details, or confidential third-party material unless you are comfortable with it being processed by our service providers to generate a reply.
You must not use the service for unlawful, harmful, abusive, deceptive, infringing, spam-related, security-testing, or automated high-volume activity. We may reject messages, limit usage, suspend processing, or block an email address where we believe the service is being misused.
The service is intended for text-based email and normal document use. We may reject messages or attachments that are too large, unsupported, unsafe, or unsuitable for processing.
AI output is not advice
Replies are produced by an AI model and may contain mistakes, omissions, inaccurate summaries, or invented details. You should verify important dates, payments, deadlines, instructions, facts and decisions yourself before relying on them.
Ask by Email is not a substitute for legal, medical, financial, tax, safeguarding, professional, or emergency advice. Do not use the service where a delay, mistake, or incomplete answer could cause serious harm.
Your content
You keep any rights you have in the content you send to us. By using the service, you give us permission to process that content solely for the purpose of providing, securing, operating and improving Ask by Email.
We do not claim ownership of your emails, documents, prompts, or AI-generated replies.
Service providers and privacy
To deliver the product, we use trusted service providers for email routing, email processing, AI processing, database storage, hosting and infrastructure. These currently include Cloudflare, OpenAI, Supabase and Vercel.
When you use Ask by Email, your content and related metadata may be processed by these providers where necessary to deliver the service. Please see our Privacy Policy for more detail on what we receive, what we store, what we do not store, and how to contact us about privacy.
Plans, credits and limits
We may offer a free tier with a monthly credit allowance and paid plans for higher limits or additional features. Credits, limits, features and availability may vary by plan.
We may change our plans, limits, features or pricing from time to time. Any paid terms shown at checkout or in your account will apply to your paid use of the service. Changes will not affect charges already paid unless we tell you otherwise or the law requires it.
Abuse, automated traffic, attempts to bypass limits, or unusually heavy usage may result in requests being rejected, credits being limited, or your email address being blocked.
Availability and changes
We are still developing Ask by Email. The service may change, be interrupted, contain bugs, or be unavailable from time to time. We may add, remove, suspend, or change features as the product evolves.
We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be shown on this page. If you continue using the service after the terms change, the updated terms will apply to your use of the service.
No warranty
Ask by Email is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, accurate, or suitable for your particular needs.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, or business losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If there is a dispute, the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
